Put 320x240 .png wallpaper file named "wallpaper" in DX50s memory.

Copy your wallpaper called wallpaper.png file to the root directory of the internal DX50 memory and it should work. You might have to turn the player off and on again, not sure.

Yep 320 by 240 pixels is the dimension of the dx50 screen wallpaper resolution.
