Hmmm read a bit on those and is kinda interested in trying a set someday as well, but it seems like they are kinda dated now, cuz there are quite a few open back cans that can deliver pretty amazing quality bass nowadays. They might be over hyped a bit initially but i am sure they are still damn good sounding cans no doubt.

I've got a pair of 15 € modded Yamaha orthos that sound much better than the K 701, so the K812 truly have a ways to go to convince me of their 100x price.
 
Not to say I don't appreciate AKG coming up with new models - just that the trend for several years has been less quality for more money.

the AKG's haven't been released for reviews AND the official video was taken down because it sucked so hard... the Alpha Dogs we expect to be good, so that thread will get the normal OMFGBBQ its better then taco salad and cialis on a beach in December with nacho cheese! Whereas the K812's will most likely be a K/Q7xx refresh and/or full of suck. (cuz AKG/Harmon don't care anymore)
