The HeadAmp GS-X and GS-X MK2 Thread

I joined the queue last year, the money my country has depreciated 50% and justin does not respond. At the moment I am unable to complete the payment.

What happens to the money? I lost US$ 700?

I am sure you will get your money back
... though communication of headamp is not on the same level as the quality of the amps

.
Don't worry, it will take some time but you did not loose your money.

Greetings!  I wasn't sure where to post this but I thought I'd start here...

I was in line for a GS-X mk2 and had to back out due to some unfortunate news about my dad's health (selling off hifi to create a travel fund).  After I placed my original deposit, I got to work creating two maple platforms for the PSU and amp section of the GS-X.  I started with some fantastic figured maple, and then did a finish similar to what you might see on a PRS electric guitar.  Using Transtint aniline dye, I first dyed these black.  I then sanded back the black (leaving it in the "valleys" of the curl) and dyed them blue.  I then finished them with multiple coats of Waterlox varnish.  I haven't rubbed them out yet, but they look beautiful as they are.

Since I am no longer going to need them for the GS-X, I wanted to see if anyone had interest in these for their amp?  I don't have any other gear that would utilize these dimensions and I'd hate for them to just sit.  Given the cost of the material and the labor involved (but also considering these are not a professionally produced product), I think $250 for the pair would be a fair price.

Again, this is just an interest check.  They probably need to continue to cure through the end of this week prior to shipment.

I am sure this will get straightened out eventually. Justin has a lot on his plate getting amps out to owners, so I am sorry if he has not responded to this issue in as timely a manner as you would have preferred.

If you have paid the deposit, you are good, not to worry. The specifics have been received. We will definitely get back in touch with you as shipping time approaches for your amp. Your patience will be rewarded.

Sorry to hear about your fathers health, I hope everything works out for the best for you and your family I really do, I know first hand how illness can pay it's toll on family members. so all the best mate.

The maple platforms look absolutely beautiful, if I had the money I would snap them up in a flash.  Out of curiosity are you willing to sell them internationally? I may find a way.

Cheers,
~Steve

Steve, thank you for the compliments but, most of all, thank you for the empathy.  We have a wonderful community here on head-fi.

I appreciate your desire to purchase them and help out, but I don't think it would be in either of our interests to attempt to ship internationally.  They are big enough to be quite heavy, and by the time I pack them for safe travel I think we'd have a shipping bill as large as the proposed cost of the platforms.

Thanks again!
John

Fair enough John, I totally understand it probably would work out to be too costly. Cheers mate

I guess I'm a bad-luck guy. Upset indeed

.

I received my GS-X mkii this afternoon.  All as good as expected until the 4-pin XLR jack was inserted. I heard obvious sizzle noise from the left earspeaker, louder when I volumed up or chose higher gain setting. I tried different input lines and jacks, and the noise appears when XLR input and the 4-pin jack are used. The problem exists on the left channel.

Since I've got no double three balanced lines at hand, not sure if the noise would be there when those two jacks are used.
