The HeadAmp GS-X and GS-X MK2 Thread

Can’t see an issue with your chain to yield that outcome. Is it the position on your head, or clamping force, are the pads intact and not squashed or damaged?
Thanks for replying! I think it must have been something to do with the temperature of the unit. I had just had it delivered and it's in the 30s here. It seems to have fixed itself today. Listening to some pretty hard rock with guitar distortion and heavy bass. The flabby bass seems to be gone.....:relaxed:

I've never had a SS amp that was sensitive to temperature like that. I was concerned it was damaged or something.

Good to hear cause flabby gsx bass doesn’t compute. It’s source/dac/xlr cable conduit

It reminded me of flabby sony bass from many years ago. Distorted and mushy. Weird. Well, I'm very happy with the GS-X MKII now. Sounds fantastic without sibilance or distortion. The face plate is way cool to. Love the matching faceplate screws.

How does this amp compare to the Ferrum stack? I Susvaras daily and always wondered about the Headamp too.

OOR + Hypsos is smoother, possibly more detailed as well. GS-X MK2 has more impact and meat to its sound, definitely airer and more 3D sounding. OOR is more "vanilla" and plain sounding, GS-X MK2 is more exciting and aggressive but consequently more sensitive to system matching. Build and finish a lot better with the HeadAmp, the OOR is smaller and more compact.

the GSX mini is a very cool amp. It drives the Susvara and many other headphones very nicely

Thanks for that. I also have the Holo Bliss in mind. I might put them all to test.

Is the mini better than the mk2 or just a better deal?

Definitely better but the mini doesn’t suck. It’s also a good choice but if you have power demanding cans the MK2 is probably a better choice
