Actually there is two different variants of the Sennheiser HD280. The Professional model is the one in question is a 64-ohm variant. The other is HD280 not labeled professional but rather just the plain HD280 and that one is a 300-ohm variant. I remember it very well when I purchased my HD280-professional because the gentleman at the High-end audio show explained to me that the 300-ohm variant was used primarily for medical and therapy type situations as the frequency response for the HD280 was 10hz to 28KHz. The HD280-Professional has a range of 8hz to 25KHz and has a nominal impedance of 64-ohms.
