Happened upon this article from Berkeley about graphene headphones.  Looks promising:

A recessed treble and a 20-dB upper bass hump is not quite a "superb" response as they seem to find in the article. Though curiously, not only do they celebrate the response, they find time to tell it off ("a poor speaker, or, say, a bassy set of headphones, might be very strong in the lower ranges, but weaker at the top").
 
Interesting technology, but the article needs to be reconsidered.
