All components need time to settle in with an electric current / signal going through them. Basically, capacitors, resistors, chips need a chance to settle down at their operating specs / temperatures / electrolytic properties / chemical reactions etc. It's simple physics and chemistry. Solid State or Tube....doesn't matter. That is what we normally call "burn in".
