WHYYY does it have to be a microSD card?? they are so darn expensive!! why not regular SD, im sure the space for the can be found... its like 3 times cheaper.. the 256gb are like 4 times lol.. and if somebody really wants to use a microSD he can just get an adaptor,
im gonna HATE it to have to hack my way in with a SD to microSD adaptor which will look like crap and be prone to problems..
MicroSD cards are pretty cheap...

The price discrepancy between SD and MicroSD cards of approximate size and speed are negligible at best...

SANDISK microSDXC UHS-I classe 10 128 Go (SDSDQUA-0128G-U46A Ultra) : 130€
SANDISK Ultra SDXC UHS-I classe 10 128 Go (SDSDU-128G-U46A Ultra) : 84€

Oh... just one :
MicroSD max capacity : 128Go
SDHC max capacity : 256Go

No, thats cheap, and far from negligible http://www.amazon.de/128GB-Secure-Digital-Speicherkarte-HighSpeed/dp/B00JAXVUSO/ref=sr_1_168?s=ce-de&ie=UTF8&qid=1397143478&sr=1-168&keywords=128gb+sd#productDetails

x2 for SD instead of MicroSD.

Cheaper, harder to loose and many times, faster.

My argument holds true for 64GB and under cards, the prices for which are the only ones that matter. I really don't see many folks spending more than the cost of the DAP on damn storage...

BTW, "loose" is incorrect. You can have a "loose" screw that doesn't fit; if the loose screw falls out, you'll "lose" it.

I don't understand the argument. You have to spend money on storage. Why wouldn't you want to spend less money for more storage, regardless of the price of the DAP?

And why do the prices of the 64G cards only matter? I very much want a 128G card (again, regardless of the price of the DAP).

I am really interested in reading about the latest Fiio DAPs and I love Fiio amps but I am sticking with my Rockboxed Hifiman 601 and 601le as I love the interface but just as importantly I have had 128gb sdxc cards in them for quite a while. The use of the full sized sd cards is a major benefit for me.

on the contra, many people today are looking for  DAPs which offer a high amout of storage, especially since losless format is out, the music directories have grown exponentially bigger,
spending more money for storange than a DAP makes more sense to me than spending the same amount on storage as before but more for the DAP itself, i mean... LOGIC??

You can put a MicroSD in a SDHC slot... and you can't put a SDHC in a microSD slot.
Why choose microSD ?

Well, thanks to some enterprising individual who was grappling with the same issue, technically, you could...just a bit messy.

Indeed! But it may add too much bulk though specially when this is mostly likely gonna be used for sports xD

I just realized FiiO is using MicroSD~
