Would love to have slightly less focus on the DAC and more on the balance between the components for the best portable sound

I like either A or C. I think the X1 is going to be a killer.

One thing that I like about the clip zip is the clip. I know it isn't going to happen with the X1, but does anyone else like the clip concept for a small gizmo like the X1?

Btw, I say this assuming that I wouldn't want to be using the X1 with an external amp. I can see though that if that is what you'd want to do, the clip would be a problem.

p.s. I have my flame suit on, so feel free to bring it on lol!

Edit: Hmm. I am changing my mind a bit, and could see myself wanting to use it with an amp, so I guess I am also changing my tune in regards to wanting a clip lol.

i like the new design.  It'll pair dimension wise almost perfectly with the pico slim inside it's leather case.  Just stop development on the x3 and x5 and focus on this.

If the DAP is too small, I find it difficult to pair it with an amp as it is harder to hold... Like my iNano 3. I hardly use it with my E07K because the rubber band that comes with the FiiO is next to useless here. :frowning2:

0.5/0.7cm is reasonable but 1cm D:

Depend on the feedback , we have new design now, which should be called Design C

So I see two circles surrounding an internal button. I assuming the inner button can be pressed, good for functions such as "play", "pause" and "enter", the first inner circle is probably the scroll-able mechanical wheel, and the outer circle is the unmovable wheel but with 4 compressable buttons?

Like to add that the design C is a good compromise between A and B. it's more pocketable than A, but easier to hold and more horizontal screen size than B. I think it's a winner.

C is nice and classy to me. Sleek too. It gets my vote.

James, this is a little hard to write, but since nobody has said anything, the word "bottoms" should be "buttons", I believe. Although "bottoms" is funnier.

I definitely like the look of the wheel on C much better.  I much prefer the slim design as something to easily hold in one hand and manipulate, so I'm glad to see the compromise between the two styles.  Is the screen the same as A?  Or is it a sort of mix between the two as well being taller than A but thinner than B?
