My wonderful USPS delivery person showed up at 8:30 am with the amp. I have never got a package that early before.

I have had the amp playing for close to three hours now and this amp just plain rocks. The sound has body and tone but the amp is very fast. Maybe most noteable, this amp has a soundstage almost the size of my high power 6bx7gt equipped Supra .... and I have a RCA blackplate 6cg7 in the amp for gain .... which is a tube that typically has a smaller soundstage. This amp exudes power. Listen to a senn 580/600 headphone on this amp and see if you think the senn's are slow or veiled.

I will have some pics to post shortly .....

Congratulations Earl!

Your first impressions sound very promising. This SP Extreme, having a new circuitry, makes it even more exciting. I cannot wait for more reports from you and others on the developments during the burn-in. Keep us posted please!

What's your configuration Earl? Did you get all the option under the sun?

Can you give some impressions with some low impedance cans?

I look forward to some images and further impressions. That is pretty exciting stuff. Great that they showed up early, what a great way to start off. I received a small tube amp the Micro Tube amp, kinda going the opposite way. It is nice to just have the glow of tubes but I have to admit you have a lot of glow going on there!

Wow, the images came up as I was typing this. I want to see the orange glow! Want to borrow my camera? :^)

Mine is stock except for an upgraded 14 amp transformer so I can use 6528 output tubes. The 5998's sound so good I dont really want to switch them out though. I have some modded grado sr-80's .... so I will give some comments with those low impedence headphones at some point. This amp is an absolute steal.

Have you got the 2c51 adaptors yet?

I'm interested to hear how the 2c51/5670's sound in any SP amp.
