I think it was easier to spot what good it did for picture quality and the sound of movies from my Apple TV 4k and LG oled Tv. Yeah this is good stuff.

More refined smoother picture details better black levels and colour accuracy. And i heard the bass better and cleaner with out bloath for example on the motor engine sound on Mad Max and the intro voice on Dune 2. Whatched first 10 min before and after i introduced the SW-6 on Kingdom of the Planets of the apes, Furiosa A Mad Max Saga and Dune 2.

@bluenight That's what I do to assess network/power/grounding upgrades. Use picture quality on an ISF calibrated OLED. Its easier to see better/worse with a good TV, because sometimes certain music tracks can be preferable with distortion.

A good switch like the SW-6 brought about all the improvements you listed with TV picture and movie audio.

What happens then?
The clock settles. Never turn that switch off because it has the OCXO. After breake in it will take a week to settle if you switch it off. Just leave that switch on.

What streamer du you have - what is you playback device?

Could you please tell me your whole chain, for reference to this discussion, please be specific :)

I can say about my experience with the SW6. In the first week I fell the sound “without life” and I remember to say to myself that the emotion of the music was gone away, but with some days of burning (I take the SW6 from the system and move to my web distribution for some days) all that bad feeling gone away and I could perceive the UP in my sound. Better stage, detail retriever, resolution and so on….
Take some time for it and I think you will be happy with the results.

@OCC7N are you sure you are not overagegerateing the warm up time after shut off? Maybe 30min - 2 hours for the OCXO clock is enough? I do turn off my equipment all the time when not using. But now i have been keeping it on all the time on a stream for 3 days to get some Burn in.

See my signature for all my gear. But been using Hugo2 as my dac and a Gustard X-30 is coming in. LHY Dmp A6 ME as streamer with LHY LPS.

@LucianoBadoe Thanks for sharing your experience. I would be lying if i would say i have not felt the same about it sounding alittle boring and lifeless because of less precived bass dynamics. I do hear the more refinement though.

What do you think of the bass and dynamics performance on SW-6 now?

Do you keep it on all the time as occ7n suggested?

Yeah maybe I did. But certainly more than hours I could say atleast two days.

@bluebight, I have no complaints about the bass in my system. All aspects of the system are in the best level at now here and I believe the SW6 and others minors improvements bring this result.

Nothing is described there. Just a list of gears. No context in regards to your actual chain from the source of network/WAN to your ears.

Do you use the SW6 as recommended/design or just the RJ45 ports?

Supra cat 8 Ethernet cables all the way no fiber used. Router goes in to isolated RJ45 SW-6 port. And then the rest of the RJ45 ports goes out to my various sources: Streamer, Apple TV 4K, TV. All with Ifi Lan isilencer at the end.

@LucianoBadoe i re listened to my reference songs playlist and now after 3 days of burn in and with AQ NRG Z3 Power cable it sound as it should with bass and dynamics and with emotions back. I hear more resolution and refinement and nuances then i did with Netgear GS108 with ifi ipower-x. I hope it will improve further.

What is your router?

@bluenight good hear that from you. I listen today some of my references too and definitely can say that all is very nice and the bass is very deep, fast and with excellent articulation.

I let my SW6 always on and the connection here are Modem -> Router -> cheap FMC converter -> Fiber / Finisar modules -> SW6

So you go out with RJ45 Ethernet cables to rest of your sources?

The SFP fiber port can be used as both an input and output port?

For example if you connect in to the SW-6 isolated RJ45 cable port from router and then go out from SW-6 SFP port to a source.

Or connect from router that have sfp port or FMC to SW-6 SFP port and go out with RJ45 to sources.
