@OCC7N, your cords aren’t even close to being messy enough. 😃

Yeah, that clock doesn't have a clock on board to fall back on from what I understand. IMO that card looks really interesting. The intel base card is supposed to be good, and IME (from adding a similar shield to the USB XE) carbon fiber shielding makes a nice improvement in a computer environment.

That looks very well executed. I myself purchased a sheet of mumetal alloy and fit it to go between my 1600 watt titanium rated computer power supply and my jcat xe usb and ethernet cards. I might just have to do what you did with the carbon fiber. I'm sure the results are very good. When I put the mumetal in between the psu and the cards, the sibilance, glare, high frequency digital haze, all dropped drastically.

If you do try this, make a carbon fiber cover for both the front and back sides of the card, the back side might actually be more important given the card's orientation in the pc.
Yeah, I noticed a difference when I put the mumetal in between the cards and the psu, it's a normal atx case. I wonder what kind of improvement I would get by attaching carbon fiber on the top side. Could shield interference from the cpu possibly? The closer I've connected the jcat cards to the cpu, the more digital/glare-y it sounded. Same thing happened when I put the cards too close to the beefy psu near the bottom of the motherboard. The sweet spot was equal distance from the psu and the cpu, but since I've put the mumetal shielding right on top of the psu, I could position the cards lower without hearing that digital glare.

Im trying to find advantages between Cisco vs Luxul. First priority is 5V or 12V DC input..I was told that Luxul are dominating the AV industry. Maybe its time to try a cheap one.

The luxul 8 ports seems to be a great buy. However the spec seems the same and I don´t need 8 ports

Im buying the switch for, Fast Ethernet: 100Mbps (Half-duplex) testing purpose.

My assumption tells me I should get the cheapest Cisco Meraki instead. Luxul in the same price range either 240V and too big.

Or Cisco Meraki Go 8 Port Switch (GS110-8-HW-EU). Great switch with 2 SFP

Skip the switch and go right from the router.

Ubiquiti Edgerouter X SFP - Router - Desktop - Black (ER-X-SFP) https://a.co/d/bgn89P9

Only if DECT, USB, media server, packet acceleration, LED display, EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) are deactivated and WLAN deactivated and relocated to a Repeater (LAN-Bridge)

Just get a etherregen with a good linear power supply. I've tried changing the original power supply on the stock routers with lps's without any improvement in sound quality, but when I put in the etherregen inbetween my desktop and stock router, etherregen powered by the hypsos, there was a very big sonic improvement. Swapping ethernet cables from the etherregen to desktop also made a noticeable difference. Swapping power cables from the hypsos powering the etherregen made a much more noticeable difference than tinkering with the stock router and modem as well. But I must add that the stock modem and routers were making very loud mechanical noises within the devices(whirring noises), which was resolved by connecting them to a power conditioner. Currently interested in the jcat signature ethernet cable and doing the carbon fiber mod on the jcat cards. The jcat ethernet cable will probably be my next acquisition.

I can’t support any rj45 connector that uses a PCB.

What voltage do you use?

it gets melting degrees at 12v I have heard

its the perfect size vs features and performance

Nice one. Im not fan of SFP from my latest experience. I dont wanna keep extra SFP because they went burn/melt. Its an expensive affair. how long is the optical fiber cable?

Im guessing it connects to FMC not a router with built in sfp in the switch

I believe the hypsos is set at 12v. I actually didn't like the way it sounded at lower voltages and higher amps. With the hypsos, I was able to try 9v,10v, and 11v, but I always came back to 12v. Don't know why, but I seem to prefer the higher voltage and lower amperage on the etherregen. The lower voltages negatively affected the clarity of the overall sound. Yeah, it can definitely get hot. But it did get hot on the other voltages too from what I recall.
