Looked at features linked in the @OCC7N post, I would need to refresh my networking knowledge, at least 2 weeks training @cisco. LOL
@Tubewin. Limiting link speed to 100Mbps is the first things to do. It can be done on other device as well as mentioned above. Or by plugging a cable with two pairs wires. Not joking....
Refering to this post, a disabled port due to STP (and two other Cisco extensions) protocol will be displayed on the management page. There are 802.3az power saving options, this feature should be disabled, but is enabled by default).
There is a settings for the general power limits as well, needs more reading. Cisco recommends at least 7cm gap above ventilation slots, covering this area may trigger additional power saving. It looks very aggressive, it could be set more relaxed. It could explain problem after stacking some other device over a switch.
