Hey guys,

Today we’re introducing the Magni 3 headphone amplifier—a fully discrete, fully complementary, current-feedback, linear-supply, 2W RMS into 32 ohms, insanely clean-measuring headphone amp—for $99.

You could say that today is the end of the low end of the high end, because nothing with the topology, capability, or specs like this has ever existed at anywhere near this price. Seriously. Compare Magni 3 to anything out there. Heck, compare at 10X the price. Well, many times the price, anyway.

Oh, and for all of you who've recently purchased Magni 2s or Magni 2 Ubers (in the last month), don't panic! Contact orders@schiit.com and the team will get you taken care of with refunds or exchanges.

All the best,

Are we still using sticky feet?

Edit: they're pressed in. Woot.

Wow, competition for the Cavalli LC from massDrop, as well as the Jot! Competition is good. I look forward to giving it a listen at RMAF.

Can the Magni 3 preamp outputs be connected to an integrated stereo amp (Marantz PM17 KI Series) to use with speakers when headphones are not connected?
Mimby > Magni 3 > Marantz > Speakers
If so, which volumen level should be used?

Yes, and it probably doesn't matter. Might be easier to set the Marantz volume high and use the Magni.

Ok, got it, but Marantz has the remote control to make me easier life when sitting at armchair.
So, do you think if Magni 3 is setup at top volume I will get a good combination managing volume output to speakers through Marantz?

That would work.

You might be better just using a splitter from your DAC and running RCA to each amp.

You have read my mind on the splitter.
Could you (anyone) reccomend an RCA splitter according the quality of Maagni 3 and Marantz?
I understand RCA splitters are passive (not wall powered), right?
Correct. Passive.

Normally I would recommend Monoprice, but their splitters are really thin wire, and I worry about them.

This one looks good

You will need two of them.

Alternatively, you could get a Schiit Sys, set eh volume on the Sys to max, and just use it as a switch box.

Finally, if your amp has line or rec out, just run the DAC into the amp, then the Line-out/Rec-out into the Magni.

Is a Vali3 on the horizon too?

You need to connect the Magni3 (or any headphone amplifier for that matter) to the Rec Out on the integrated amplifier. In most cases you don't even need to switch the int amp on, but if the Marantz needs to be powered on to enable that output, just set move its volume knob to mute the speakers.
