Food sucks unless they're distributed in tubes.
Any LCD-3s without custom wood sucks
All operating systems suck.

I think that about wraps up all of the loose ends. Happy sucking...don't read that the wrong way.

So if there's an Iron Chef, would the Copper Sulfate Chef be his natural enemy?

And on a fun note - artbooks.
I've been looking forward to getting this one. - http://cdn.halcyonrealms.com/animation/otomo-katsuhiros-short-peace-program-book-review/ . Sometimes our local dealer stocks things like these, sometimes they don't. It just peeves me that they had to shut down the book store upstairs from Yaohan. Tons of good stuff, fresh releases there.

And a lot of good robot stuff -

And I think TMAC would dig this especially considering next month -

Still love original Iron Chef.

You know, you've now made me realize that one thing I've really wanted over the years, on and off, is a nice collection of artbooks. Maybe I'll start one soon.

The first one will definitely be a Yo****aka Amano artbook. Not sure which one...

Wooooow, way to censor head-fi...

I think I tried to spell his name on the forums last time and got censored as well.
You know, people usually feel inclined to get those "collection of bests" books and call it even. Like this - http://www.amazon.com/Worlds-Amano-Yo****aka/dp/1595820647. Not to say that this book is bad, but I've always found it infinitely more fun to collect the smaller ones bit by bit. Biten, Hiten, Maten, and Mono. These are more thematic, which I vastly prefer. Of course if you just want his FF stuff then the above book would make sense. His Vampire Hunter D stuff is pretty phat as well.

Sort of the express route for collecting is it not? Little like buying a dictionary instead of collecting a library 'cause the dictionary already has all those other words in it.

Oops forgot.

QNX did  not seem to make your list.

Oops again, found it, I was obviously distracted by the mere mention of OS/9. Didn't rate OS/2 warp though, is it grandfathered into sucking?

Food is the only true religion!

Yes.

QNX sucks in real time - cat.v
But cats don't have long enough fingers so what do they know about computers.

....And I break that beautiful 5555 post count.
Ah...must preserve that. It only happens every 1111 posts.

Didn't CJ Cherryh write about a catsbrain computer?

Well anyone to whom TV is a culinary inspiration is in serious trouble.  Might as well conjure up Klingon dished from Trek reruns as use crud on foodie:)

I grew up watching Graham Kerr - a complete goofball...

I got a "hey, your diploma's coming in a couple weeks!" letter just now.  That's kind of exciting.

Perhaps this will quell some of the dreams?

Finally, after a year-long separation from my vintage Yammy ortho, the reunion is oh so sweet. From the weeks long fasting from headphones (due to wanting to listen to music using the cheapo PC 2.1 Logitech speakers) my stock Yammy is very very from what I remember from last year.

Wow, has it been that long?  Oh wait, I guess it has... I kept thinking that you went home during the winter, but then I remembered Turkey.

I listened to the new Beats Studio 2013 yesterday and it was surprisingly decent. Still a lot of plastic for the price but suddenly the performance is respectable. I wonder if things will get awkward in the portables forum.

You know what's funny about this... given his past history, no one is gonna believe Mike about this... not for a while at least.  He is right though.  It's still not Fi, but at least it's not crap anymore.  Which makes me wonder, has every major studio suddenly changed it's house sound?

What makes the Alpha Dogs compelling is that they jettison the stock cups entirely, which solves one issue most T50RP mods have no matter what they are, and that's a slightly rubbery quality to the sound that the stock cups seem to impart. It's just unavoidable so long as those cups are there. Maybe Dan's new cups will solve this, though I'm skeptical he'll have as much control on the drivers, as his target sound seems to be a bit looser.

Yeah, from talking to Dan, that was the whole reason behind what he's doing.  He reached a limitation on the stock cups, and it wasn't worth it to tweak it any further.  Personally, I liked the Alpha Dogs very much, and I had a pretty good time during my audition.  I will say this though, the sound of the Alpha Dogs is reminiscent of a relatively rare modded Mad Dog I had the opportunity to try a little while back... but with a much more open presentation.

Some amps that are touted as "wires with gain" and measuring perfectly didn't sound that natural to me. They sounded thin, flat. You need power *and* finesse.

The term deceased comes to mind for some of these well-measuring amps.  In fact, now that I think about it, my most common response to people asking me if such-and-such is a good amp is to say, "well it measures well."

Right now, I am thoroughly content with the WA7.  It's almost a perfect storm for my immediate needs.  The DAC isn't the best I've heard, but it does the job just fine.  The sound, without any hint of sarcasm, is just lovely.  Oh, and I love the little IEM jack... love it, love it, love it!

Sounds like my ideal amplifier

(says the guy with poor-measuring AudioGD stuff, and who uses vibration tweaks and cables worth almost as much as his gear).  In my ideal world, gear performs so well technically that all the dynamics, finesse, smoothness are there as a product of superb technical performance rather than one flaw hiding another.  It's probably a pipe dream but I think it's worth pursuing.

drez, have you tried the SR Tranquility Base yet?  That thing is unreal.

Even Order Harmonic distortion? Odd Order Harmonic distortion?? What if a consumer's sensitivity is at odds with Even Order...

never mind, but hopefully you get the point. Your "Best" may simply not translate over into another's reality. Be it food, film, audio or sex. Still... it's good to have preferences!

It was all making sense until I got the the sex part.

Why do I find myself craving Jamaican food after watching this video. Man, that chicken plate looks delicious. I dare guess our old friend eke chowed down nicely on some home made jerk chicken while he was visiting his family.

You have no idea. I almost burst into tears when I saw the island disappear behind me, and again when I was standing in the customs and immigration line in Atlanta.

This scene in Dr. Who describes it perfectly:

I promised myself I wouldn't devolve into food talk. Ha.
The Food p0rn guy (as I know him) makes good things grosser and better.

Got me interested in how to make the stuff.

Ended up looking a lot like Selleongtang but more clear.

Again, I know nothing about food. I f** up cheesecakes and making tea.

So do chickens in Jamaica have real attitude problems or something what's with the name?
