Checked their site. They must have updated the code redemption. Here are the headphones exempt from coupon:

Amperior, CXC 700,  HD 280, HD 518, HD 558, HD 598, HD 600, HD 650, IE 80, MOMENTUM, MM 100, MM 450-X,  MM 500-X, MM 550 and (X), PXC 250-ii, PXC 450, RS 160, RS 170, and RS 180

Personally, I think Sennheiser wanting $500 for the HD650 is the joke of the century (excluding flagship bracket).

I'm not so sure about the strength or (as you suggest) Senn's strength and/or consistency of/in enforcing it.  There seems to be a large number of less than MAP deals that show up on a regular basis.  This is against the backdrop of a policy that has been in place for only about a year.

Sennheiser has been pretty successful in keeping their prices locked down over the last year. I think it's nonsense since the q701 is on par with the hd6x0 (and I prefer the q701)

If you're looking for a great price get the q701. At the going rate for the hd650 you're better off getting a or tho dynamic offering

It's well known by now that if you're patient and keep your eyes open and ears to the ground you can grab the HD-650 for far less than the $499.99 MAP.

That's a legit point of view.  However, the other side of that coin is by following the current course--and thereby demonstrating to Senn (U.S.) & their vendors how flawed and porous their MAP policy is, and how they are missing sales by artificially propping up prices.

Agreed, both Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic need to take a hard look at the MAP pricing and how the handle things. I sold a new pair of DT990 Premiums brand new that I bought two pairs of both way under MAP pricing and I was actually contacted directly by a Beyer rep who told me that I was violating their MAP pricing and needed to raise my price now!

Here's the email

You are violating our map price on the DT 990 Premium 32 ohm headphone!
Please adjust your advertised price according to our map price of $379 immediately!

Please contact me if you wish to discuss!

Now of course me being a red blooded male that doesn't exactly like being told what to do (especially in this type of manner) had to fire back a few choice words of my own explaining how this is a free country and he has no right to tell me what I can or can not do with my own person property. Plus, I'm not a retailer. I'm just a dude trying to sell his stuff online. I also told him if they would fix the pricing in the first place to make it more competitive this wouldn't even be an issue...
He didn't write back...

Razordog is probably in the same boat as the rest of us. They want to move a good product that happens to be pricer than the market is willing to pay for it and they aren't getting any help from Sennheiser so they figured out their own way of handling the problem. They're helping the consumer and moving units at the same time. Win WIn. And lets be real here, if They (Senn) had a real problem with this they would have jumped on it a long time ago when this campaign started. If Beyer can jump on little ole me, do you think another giant in the industry would hesitate in any way to correct what they thought was a problem?

But when you try the code RAZORDOG100...it still works!

I really don't think we need to even worry about an authorized dealer like RazorDog's relationship with Sennheiser. Most likely their MAP enforcement allows a bit of leeway in the way of promotions and best offers through eBay and the like, seeing as MAP control is all about "advertised" prices. Other sites do similar promotions to get around MAP's restrictions, like soundearphones.com doing 25% off gift cards. That doesn't mean they're trying to sneak around manufacturer's backs and we should be all hush hush about it. Nonsense. The coupon codes currently work for the HD600 and HD650 and RazorDog is an authorized dealer with great customer service. Everything else is moot. We should take advantage of it and spread the word.

Just my .02...

For those interested, the $20 iFuzen can drive my HD600 effortlessly. It's ridiculous, actually.

It's 180mW total... That's not a whole lot... I'm always surprised at how well the E17 works too at @ 250 mW. It's not as dynamic as a desktop amps but it's surprisingly good for it's size.

Completely off topic at this point, but I'm actually using my E17 on the 12 db gain setting to drive my LCD-2 while I wait for the Lyr. I can get a weirdly high amount of volume (albeit at higher volumes it does tend to distort on certain frequencies) with such a tiny amp/dac.

Uh...deals... I guess I can remind everyone that the Vsonic GR07 MKII and Bass Edition are still $136 over at Lendmeurears.com. Free shipping to both Canada and the US. Ordered mine a few days ago and got confirmation of shipping today. Good price for a well-regarded earphone.
