I dont know why anyone would buy the 598 for that much. You can buy the 555 for a little over 100 and they share the same drivers. Ridiculous.

....you were saying??

Headphones are usually significantly more expensive in Canada.

You can easily expect to spend $100 more on any mid fi headphone in Canada.

Not just headphones, but pretty much all audio equipment.

EVERYTHING is more expensive in Canada... then again minimum wage is higher here. Still... we all must be out of our minds to still be living here.

BTW, for any Canadians reading this, canadacomputers has good deals on audio equipment. Some stuff is really over priced (actually cheaper on amazon.ca), some is the same price as it is in the US (dirt cheap). lol

I just shipped my modded HD555's to a user named MenacingTuba. He lives in Canada but is within walking distance of Washington. I sent my HD555's to a US address in Washington and they charge him $5 to hold the package for 60 days. He said he can walk across and get the packages normally without paying duty. I thought that was pretty interesting. The place is called Ship Happens.

SonicElectronix is having a 13th anniversary sale. Huge selection of headphones, although most of the ones I knew the price of were not that great. But looks like some decent amp specials

JDS Labs Objective 2 amp for $129.99 shipped.
NuForce uDAC-2 $79.99 shipped.

DT990 premium (32 ohms) + Fiio E07k bundle seems like a pretty good deal at $258. Use the VISA10 promo code (must pay with V.me) for $25 off the $283 asking price. Only 1 left in stock right now.

Anyone considering picking up the JDS Labs O2 from SonicElectronix's 13th anniversary sale might want to have a look at their ebay store, might be able to save a bit if you make them an offer.

The one you posted is the cheaper Sol Republic Tracks not the HD version.

Thanks Dan of Steel, BloodyPenguin and cmarti for the correction, I missed that. I've edited my original post.

+1

That, and I wonder if their Ebay store would take an offer on the ODAC at 129.99? Gotta guess that the markup is similar to the O2: http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDS-Labs-Standalone-ODAC-Portable-Standalone-Digital-to-Analog-Converter-DAC-/300945871722
