The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!

how close is Sony's vinyl processor to the original vinyl players ?
They are both very enjoyable but vinyl is better (unfair comparison though as I have a totl turntable and tube amplifier). The main difference is that vinyl is richer sounding than digital by design (although I haven't tried DrWalkman firmwares for the 1A yet). Also with vinyl you get access to original pressings who generally can be better than digital transfers although not always. Having said that the Sony player is very musical and its portability gives it such a huge advantage: it's just brilliant to be able to take all your music with you.

My Sony NW-WM1Z sounds very analog with Shure SRH1540 headphones.

When I turned 55, IEMs began turning my ears into a nasty wax factory. I can only use headphones as a result. Bummer.

Current favorite: LCD-X / DHC Complement C balanced / WM-1Z J3-Plus v2.
Alternative: Solaris SE - ADV Custom tips / DHC Clone Silver balanced / WM-1Z J3-Plus v2

I don't have any issues with ear wax and I'm much older.

don't use cotton buds, and maybe visit an ear specialist for a wax cleanup ?

i am 47, i get some wax from my sleep earplugs but i clean my ears with some tissue and i am fine afterwards

I clean my ears, Nutter regularly, and I am fine just an IE M. Also excessive wax production could be a sign of infection?

I use Debrox. I am going to try the ear doctor. It seems like nothing works.

Has anyone tried the Viking Ragnar with WM1Z? Fabulous pairing!

I just saw the price :scream:
Meanwhile, on the other end of the pricing scale: I recently got the BLON-03 to use with my Shanling M0 Pro at work, but found them to pair superbly with my 1Z.
