Yes! AA has been acquired by DPA, and this is actually a little bit of good news rather than bad. I hope it allows them to continue making new headphones as well!

The composer is a beauty, would actually love to own one some day.

I mean do AA struggled financially or they just wanted to sell so they can invest more into R&D? I would like to know more about it.
Hopefully the promised accessories will arrive soon.

When a certain size is reached, a marriage with a strategic partner makes sense😎
And who knows Mr.Martin Seidl the CEO...knows that he only does what brings the company forward 😉

PS.AA is now also enjoying great popularity at NAMM SHOW 2025 and their new products

Don't worry...they haven't forgotten the Composer Fans..... the supplier is working on the production 🤘👍
Yes, you will see what pads can look like in contrast to .....or from.....🙈🤣

Curious what some folks think of The Composer vs Final D8000 / Pro.

I seem to be enjoying The Composer more than any of the summit-fi planars I've tested thus far (LCD-5, Caldera, D8k Pro)
Yes I sold my D8000 after getting the composer!

Final D8000 (non Pro) was a bit too heavy and the vocals didn’t sound right to me on those but otherwise it sounded good. I could never find a suitable portable that can come close to the sound of the desktop system for the D8000. So portable use case is questionable/debatable at best. Takes EQ well enough except for in the bass where it starts to make noises (diaphram hitting the housing)

AA Composer is lighter and far more comfortable. It can be very well be driven by a non-battery dongle dac and scales decently with chain upgrades. It’s a superb all-day headphone and I use it to listen to music passively while I am working. If that is your use case and you dont want to use iems, then this is practically the endgame. You cannot EQ the AA Composer however, it doesn’t responds to it properly even when attenuation is applied, its not accurately effective on the desired frequency/frequency ranges.

In my opinion, both the D8000 and AAComposer are not in the league of Audeze LCD-5. With Mitch Barnett’s convolution filter and Holo Audio Bliss, LCD-5 grooves you into the music where you are able to listen to all the details hallmark of a flagship but they are presented in a very natural way. Here both the Composer and D8000 sounded artificial. Upsampling is easily noticeable on the LCD-5 but not so much on the other two. Takes EQ like a champ.

But even though I can use Roon Arc and the convolution filter and upsampling, the LCD-5 still sounds better when it is connected directly into the chain. So it best suited for desktop usage.

At the end of the day, one thing counts...how does a model sound without EQ and filters?
And that's where the LCD 5 is worlds inferior and far behind to the Composer...because the Audeze doesn't show you a whole lot of the performance what is on the recording😉

PS.You can talk a lot of nice things...but a lot is simply missing here
🙈😁🙈

I can agree to that. A/B between the two LCD-5 appear to be darker. But what I have found in my audiophile journey is that I personally need 5-10 minutes of listening to get adjusted to a particular flavour of the headphone sonic profile. After that, with the LCD-5, its not the dark presentation that obscures the treble details but the upper mid peak that jumps up on some recording and it’s nasty. That is fixed by EQ but the filter I mentioned works a lot better.

I suppose the use case and the willingness to EQ dictated a different paradigm of digital audio playback. I love that part of this hobby while respecting other people’s desire to not indulge in it. But then, those people chase synergy with gears which is another interesting aspect that keeps the blood pumping.

@Gaurav Tyagi

There are enough models on the market for the most diverse preferences 👍

NOMAX

PS.but none of them are as comfortable to wear as the Composer😉
