I got the composer yesterday and I gotta say it’s 1 of 3 headphones that have wowed me on the first day (The other 2 were the HD599- my gateway drug and the Arya Organic). The accessories and build are phenomenal, and this may be the most comfortable pair of open backs in existence.
However, one thing stuck out to me. I can’t help but think if you shrunk that beautiful wooden box down and had the accessories filling out that larger cardboard box, it could double as a carry case and save you guys some production cost.

Put the Composer back on my head after 5 days with Noire X
Yes, it's a dream when you feel almost nothing in contrast to the DCA

Anyone have experience comparing the composer to ZMF headphones? Curious what others’ takes are.
Noire X is better the Composer, is that what you mean? Care to explain? DCA is more detailed, and wider soundstage even if closed?

Unless X is a world beater toppling giants, there's no way it's better 
. Composer is totl up there with Susvara imo. Always hype hype hype, that's the industry and that's what sells products. I'm 1000% content with Composer, Susvara, MySphere

PS.But one thing I noticed as soon as I put it on now,that the Composer is technically far ahead of the Noire X

You should not forget the time component
Tonalities do not change
But the technical component of how these tonalities are presented to our ears changes over time

PS.There will always be performances that will remain in our memories...from the tonal tuning
But through technical progress the same tonal performance can impress us even more
At least that should be the goal

The majority of SQ at this level comes down to preferences, how any specific headphone is tuned, as they are all technically capable. Tuning and music taste rules the day imo. One headphone may excel with one genre but not so pleasing in another, so one person is saying, this headphone is the best, and another, no this headphone sucks, may both be speaking truth to their own preferences

Yes, I've heard some headphones that are much respected but to me no technicality could make them enjoyable to my ears
If they aren't tuned well it doesn't matter how clean the bass is, or how low of distortion it has.
That's why I really appreciate the Composer and Susvara, ideally tuned to my preferences and many others

The technical and tonal performance should at least be on the same level
And if the construct fits and makes a good impression,also the wearing comfort,then and only then are higher prices justified for me personally

PS.And I think Austrian Audio has managed to reconcile everything quite well for the asking price of their Composer like no other
(Only the wait for the spacers/pads/case annoys me personally too
)

I think they need to put the price back to 2700 they have some thing special with these.
And while these can sound excellent on daps and portable sources they aren't fully realized until they have a matching desktop type system imo. For example on Marley Mkii they are everybit on the same stage as Susvara and the stage opens up like IMAX, sounds in the distance, another in front of that, another behind me
