The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)

Guys, what are the best closed back headphones available in Europe up to 500€?
I maintain that the MSR7B continue to be terrific value for money and easily compete with headphones twice the price (except in terms of build). Otherwise, second hand T5p 2nd gen. Depends on your sound preferences, of course.

I would be using them mostly for rock music, some progressive rock like Porcupine Tree. Important for me is that they are not fatiguing

The MSR7B are definitely bright headphones, so if you're sensitive in that region, fatigue is likely to be an issue. But both are excellent for prog rock. 500€ is a bit of a no man's land for closed back portables in some respects. You have Focal Elegia in that region, though they felt very uninspiring to me.

Yeah, I don't like bright sound. What about Denon AH D7200? I like neutral sound, little warm

Oh OK, you're best asking @Malevolent because he is the master of Denon and possibly has a sound preference similar to yours. I like gleaming brightness myself.

Best decision to be made, imo.
Bought mine for less than 500 € new and i'm very happy with.

What's your location?

Bought mine from Projekt Akustik in Germany, well, as a special offer.

Right at the moment, there's an offer at "Elektro-Gorilla" for 444,50 €.
But i don't know this side well.

You could try one of the following options? -
  • E-MU Teak
  • Fostex TR-X00
  • Shure SRH1540
All of these are musical cans with decent technical capabilities.
