Are you saying the block feature doesn't work because it doesn't (also) block the other person from reading your posts? That's not how block works, or how it should work. Block only works by blocking you from reading the other person's posts - it is one way. Since the other person doesn't want to block you, why shouldn't (s)he able to read your posts? It is the same in read world - just because you want to ignore someone at workplace doesn't mean (s)he will automatically ignore you as well. Blocking isn't a spell.

When I block someone on some other wordpress forums it does that.
 
it totally removes them from your view on others.
 
Obviously, not all forums are the same.

The Head-Fi forums don't operate on Wordpress so things will function differently here. Blocking a user hides their posts in a thread, keeping you from seeing their comments. It does not block them from seeing yours. The system isn't set up to function that way. That's how it was designed.
