The best Winamp plugin to squeeze the best sound out of your headphones

Many people here probably know about this plugin but I thought I'd post about it anyway for those who don't. It's called Studio Sound FX and it's free. The difference between listening to any music with and without it is drastic. It makes a big difference even if you just plug in the headphones directly to the headphones output on the computer, but it's much better when you go through a good receiver (preferably using a digital connection) or probably a headphone amp, although I never had one of those. This plugin can make a pair of cheap headphones sound like more expensive ones, and if your headphones are good to begin with, you'll get the best possible sound out of them.

i like this one better - but i like the sound out-of-the-box the most, and being so i hardly use enhancing..

Actually I stopped using this plugin because doing comparisons I realized that while it gives the impression of sounding better at first, it also changes the sound of the snare drum to where it sounds more like it did in the 80's, which I really dislike. Using the standard output with the EQ tuned to each album sounds better. I just had to switch to the older interface style, because the EQ is harder to use in the new interface.

dfx audio enhancer delivers multiple and adjustable changes for multiple software - but all these plug ins do, from my limited point of view, they change the dominance (db-level) of different frequencies/-groups which suggests bigger soundstage, or more bass,or st. else

I went to their websites to see what they were. Foobar 2000 has a hideous interface, the other one not so much, but I still prefer Winamp's interface. I suffer from migraines, so I like GUIs that have a dark background.

Actually that would be rather useless for me because my receiver does the stereo to Dolby Prologic IIx conversion and it's really good at it, so I'd rather not put a surround plugin to the output.

I prefer Studio Sound FX for Winamp bcuz it delivers a more punchy bass

This plugin is certainly worth a go, it has been professionally done makes it sound better anyways the clarity of the fostex t50rp in terms of how live it sounds is better than the dt 48 it seems orthos in clarity are better then dynamic headphones.

very close to close one regarding clarity plus it gives more of an atmosphere in your ears.

R u talkin about the Studio sound Fx? i never used winamp too much, but if you guys say that theres a big difference i will try it tonight.

Use it together with mad input plugin so u get real 24/32-bit stereo in studio sound fx (higher output resolution)

Thanks n00kie, using studio sound fx with the mad input plugin has really given winamp a cd quality clearness almost verging on vinyl with the rips i've done using Exact Audio Copy and Lame For Audicity plugin for it:
