oooh.. this may have just made its way onto my to buy list. really dig the atmospheric jazz feel.

makes me think of one of my favorite albums by sinead oconnor with a sort of similar feel - sean nos nua - its a slow mellow, collection of irish folk songs.. absolutely beautiful.  Its the only album of hers that i enjoy.  i've posted songs from that album on here before.. probably more than once, so i wont do it again but you can "search this thread" for sinead o'connor and you'll find them

thanks!

:) i am going to recommend another one then. "Cantos De Agua Dulce" by Marta Gomez from Chesky Records. It's No. 2 of David Chesky's own Top 10 list. The music and the recording is just out of the world.

Ok, that's enough. We all know that we can go to Youtube for more renditions.  I like to do that occasionally for various songs. I used to think I would like to hear Mariah Cary tackle these these old standards, but now I think it is too difficult for her to give a performance without too many embellishments (IMHO).

I like to present another Norwegian female voice, Aggie Peterson in the electronica/trip hop band FROST.
I'll promise that will be the last one, at least for a while...
