Who do you prefer.....The Beatles or Pink Floyd?

Hrm, tough choice but I gotta say oranges unless it involves a pie. Then it would be apples.

Tough call, but I'm going with the Beatles. I went through a heavy Pink Floyd phase, but only occasionally listen to them any more. I've always listened to the Beatles, though.

thats like making me choose between Bach and Beethoven, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains, Opeth and Mastodon, Jimi Hendrix and BB King..... two of the artists i admire the most in this world (and which i own complete discographies of)...

Id still have to go with the Beatles though. Dave Gilmour is still the best guitar player in the world to me, and he has for me the best guitar tone EVER, but the Beatles are WAAAAAY greater than the sum of its parts.

This'll probably end up being a minority opinion around here (audio-geeks are such Floyd-heads), but I don't even think it's a fair comparison. The Beatles made the world safe for Floyd.

Pink Floyd is great, but IMO the Beatles made pop music what it is today.
