If you're really interested in getting the D2000, but can't find an appropriately priced one, you can take a look at a used pair of D600s. Most reviews put them in between the D2000 and the D5000, while being slightly closer to the D5000. Some people actually prefer the D600s over the D5000, but YMMV.

Man, now I'm getting all turned around haha, who was I kidding though, expecting this to be an easy choice. 
I never did consider the D600s though, those are a sexy looking pair of cans though, and they do sound fairly comparable to the d2000s? That may seriously be an option, just as long as they do have the bass I'm looking for

Also, what are your guys' opinions on the D400, just because there's some pretty good prices on those, and my inner cheapskate is acting up, so I just wanted to know if anyone has tried them and what they though. Idk! I have no clue right now which to snag haha

I wouldn't consider any headphones with an internal amp, which the D400 has. Just like 99% of the headphones out there, I haven't heard them, but I recon that they probably sound like a cleaner Crossfade LP2 or something. The d600 is in a different league altogether. The DT770s would be a better pick over the D400s.  
 
Actually, I got the chance to put the headphones on (and the D600) last year. Totally forgot about them because I wasn't able to listen to them. They were hooked up to some demo unit that wasn't running. The D400 felt weird on my ears, but they weren't uncomfortable, and the clamping force is somewhat light. The D600 is a pretty comfortable headphone, but, like with the D400, the clamping force isn't as much as I'd like it to be (I have a long face, though). My dumbo ears are able to fit inside them pretty well.

HD25 - Same thing with Amperiors +1
HD25 Amperior - I personally find the impact on these cans to be great, and in its price range there are a few contenders, but I feel it is a bass head can +1
V-moda M80 - The more time I spend with this thing the more balanced it feels -1

Also what do you guys feel about the higher end cans in a similar boat to this list? Initially I added them because at the high end spectrum cans tend to be slight deviation of neutral, and not much else.

I may have been one of the proponents of classifying the M-80s as Basshead cans early on but I am inclined to call it slightly v-shaped and a bit warm. I do not classify them as Basshead cans anymore. The M-100 should stay and the M-80s should go the way of Pluto.

Now, I run most of the time out of vintage amps, but the D600 has epic bass run out of my work setup - computer --- FiiO E-10 ---- Realistic STA64B receiver and with the loudness switch thrown its unreal. Have not run them off a portable setup in a while.

Definitely capable in the bass dept.

Yar, I was considering a D600 my self but... meh wasn't blown away by the impresions... a lot of varying ideas about the quality and besides no wood :3

I owned them briefly.  One of the worst sounding headphones I ever heard, even below its price point.  Avoid like the plague!

You know how there are amp/eq's?

Are there any just eq's? I listen from multiple sources on my iphone and its annoying that all the eq apps only effect my music library.

My biggest example is when gaming... An xbox doesnt have an eq, and sometimes it sounds SO crappy!

Anyways, it would be nice to be able to just plug my headphones into an eq, then into my amp/xbox/tv/line out whatever and just have a pre-eq'ed sound. You guys know of any portable eq's that wont add hiss?

Portable EQ? Nope, not much experience with those. I have used non-portable multi-band EQs that goes between the DAC and the amp before though. The trick is to turn the gain lower so that the boosts added doesn't increase over all signal level.
