Anyone tried the fake IE80's? From what I heard from several users, the fake IE80's use the same speaker as the genuine IE80's, only the bass setting "knob" isn't working. I heard the genuine IE80's are pretty basshead, so it should be worth a try. And for like 30€ there is nothing to think about

The IE80s have been faked? Wow, those used to be Sennheiser's flagship IEM, right?

They're here for about 50 bucks. I don't believe it. Of course, I saw pricier ones, priced at about 500+ dollars. This looks so convincing. If you've owned the originals, what do you think of this?:

If these sound as good as the originals, I'm getting them. I'd love to own a flagship, whether fake or not.

A genuine IE80 owner said they sound 95% the same, only the cable degrades the SQ and the bass knob isn't working. But some fake IE80 owners reported their bass knobs are working so I think these "fake IE80"s could be genuine but they didn't passed the quality controll.
 
Mine is going to arrive in about 1-2 weeks. If I would say I'm not excited, I would lie

My thoughts exactly. For this reason I wouldn't buy a fake even if it would sound equally good for less.

Any company with a reputation for quality would be foolish to release a substandard product that represents their company to save a few dollars in material/manufacturing cost.  Sennheiser's reputation is worth much more than that. 
 
Would a Michelin rated restaurant serve burned or spoiled food at a discount so that it didn't go to waste?
