The Basshead Club

The M50s are not very bassy, to be honest. They are good cans for general listening, but the bass presentation is lacking in quantity. They are present when the track calls for it, but you will miss the rumble that bassheads crave. A good V-shaped, bassy can is the Ultrasone HFI 580.

The M50 isn't, but the HFI 580 is a pretty good basshead can. What are you comparing the HFI 580s with?

Curse you poor grammar!!! No my recommendation was the HFI580 and the seconed part of t.he sentence after the comma was separate.

Oh, I see. :D Well then, we're in concurrence with our opinions. HFI 580 rocks!

One last question. Does the HFI-580 have a similar SQ with the DJ1/DJ1Pro? Because on the headphones list they are listed as one.

The DJ1 is the same headphone as the HFI 580, and the DJ1 PRO is the same as the PRO 550.

Like Prakhar mentioned, the cable for the HFI 580 is very long (3m). If you can, you should get the DJ1 instead, as it comes with a coiled cable. Alternatively, you might want to braid the HFI 580's cable.

The dj1s are the same headphones just diffrent aesthetics. The dj1 have a coiled cable and the hfi580 have a long straight cable.

What Prakhar said, but note that the DJ1 Pro are different and are the Pro 550 which have a more balanced sound.

I'll choose the Ultrasone DJ1. Maybe the detachable cable mod won't harm the SQ of the headphones right?

i thought CKS90NC were upgraded version of cks77 as it comes with new 13mm driver whereas cks77 has 12mm driver.
have u used CKS90nc or hippo vb?

I haven't tried either. From my understanding the CKS77 is generally considered the best bass iem with a dynamic driver. There are other bassy iems that get praise such as the hippos and the atrios, but the CKS77 seems to get the highest praise. Check out the appreciation thread to read more about them, and read post #1099 http://www.head-fi.org/t/604094/the-ath-cks77-big-roomy-detailed-balanced-n-i-am-not-just-talking-about-the-bass/1095

Anyone know which of these has the best/loudest bass.

- PRO700 MK2
- Crossfade LP2
- HDJ2000
- HDJ1500

I can't audition them because the music/guitar centers around me don''t have these for testing.

My brother in law loves heavy bass, and and my wife and I are trying  get him a headphone with the loudest bass.
We're trying to remove the beats brand from him.
