BTW Jens, that NH600 is not sitting in its proper cradle. That cradle belongs to a different MD model

Gikigill, you're confusing me. Someone said the fc300 have more bass than ue6000, and ue6000 is definitely basshead material, yet you say the fc300 isn't basshead material, even eq:ed.
Not that it matters, I like the Denon C400 and those are anything but bassy. But still...

I havent heard the UE6000 so cant comment on those but the HF300 are definitely not basshead. The bass is tight, well defined and present but not a huge amount of it

Yeah, I did found the Onkyo's to go pretty low surprisingly but no, no basshead material (at least to these ears.). I tried the "iPhone" version for a few weeks and ended up selling them... here are my impressions:

Used very good pair of the MS 500 on Amazon right now, fulfilled through Amazon warehouse for $80 and some change if anyone is interested enough to pick em up

I was doing a Physics past exam paper and I came across an intruiging question, so I gave a suitable answer...
So being a basshead does get you good grades after all

I take it you liked them otherwise but sold them because of the fit/on-ear?
As long as the bass is there, it's okay. I was thinking of using these for commuting back and forth to work. That's why I'm buying three different supras now. I've got enough circumaurals and IEMs.

So, I'm starting to think of upgrading my headphones and I'm looking for a nice bassy pair with lush mids and gentle highs that's preferably closed-back so I can potentially use it as a portable as well. Any preliminary suggestions?
EDIT: Budget should be roughly US$1000 but I should be able to be stretch it to US$2000 + cash from selling my current gears to upgrade my source and amp as well depending on how well my GCSE exam results go. I need to keep my rig as small as possible as I'm a boarding school student. I listen to EDM, jazz, chamber orchestral, rock and j-pop so something which does well over multiple genres will be best.

Ask Oregonian about that. I think he has the TH900 Lawton modded, though I may be wrong..
