I was wondering
how can Tera Player sound with Piano Forte x-cc?
especially that after connecting old
Sony- Nwz x1061 with PF x-cc my Wm1z is aside and it gets dusty ...

Bought a Koss KPH30i, modified it with a cable with some silver in it to tame down some bass, extend the openness and used Yaxi pads. The result is simply stunning and in my humble opinion even better than with the Porta Pro. No more boominess, beter placement of everything, more air around everything, yet still as analogue sounding as ever.

Unfortunately I don’t recall the origin of this cable but just wanted to share the knowledge for others to benefit from.

After nearly 10 years my Tera is getting annoying - the "power switch" snapped long ago and was replaced first by a bit of bank card then a tube of paper but now while it still powers on reliably it either sits there silently with the blue light on or endlessly searches (sounds like squeaking) far more often than it starts playing. Also the middle output is mono and the side one requires careful positioning of the jack to get stereo, Charles wasn't interested in fixing it when I asked for a quote years ago so I've opened it up and fixed it twice but don't expect it to survive another round.

Still sounds great, still the best option for using without looking but it will soon be time to try something cheap and Chinese

Charles won’t fix it? That seems harsh as it’s an expensive player. Had you already opened it up before contacting him?

I just checked and my memory was bad, he didn't refuse to fix it he just suggested I use the other output and service it "when it was really required". He also made the mistake of telling me I couldn't fix it which I took as a challenge when probably he meant "and keep the warranty" - I was young and stupid! I never got the original invoice which he had previously confirmed was required to transfer the warranty, he probably hadn't remembered that.

Now it has been opened, the SD socket (power switch) is snapped which can only be called abuse and there's a jumper wire connecting the jack socket to a cap so I haven't bothered asking. In $/day I don't think any other purchase has bought me as much pleasure and I will be taking my soldering iron to it again before giving up on it.

Stripped a Koss KPH30i to its bare essence, rewired it with a home brew cable and used Yaxi pads. The result is like strapping 2 speakers to your head and in combination with the Tera a lovely warm and lush sound. Love it!

Yeah you can try out lots of different daps but the tera does sound different. Less digital sounding

Did you tried different cards? Apparently the SanDisk blue card class 4 offers longest playback time, but I wanted all my music collection on a single card, as I listen mainly in random mode, that's why I use 512 SDXC.
