Have you hoped that your someday your tf10 is available in more fit friendly shell as you have been constantly annoyed by its fit issues?

Or are you holding on to a universal with damaged pins sockets or shell, could not do anything with it because of the concern that high cost of reshelling + impressions and extremely low resell value afterwards set you back? Furthermore, you could be having a bad fit from your new customs and have to spend so much time sending them back for refit and input more money to take another set of impression.

As i'm able to get hold of some original shure 535 spare parts, I am able to diy transplant the old drivers of shure 530 (broken nozzle) onto a new shure 535 shell.

As it is diyed, almost all changeable parts can be customised, from pin sockets, shell colour ( you can even request for the limited edition red), and wire material used for connection.

Shure 530 being reshelled using a 535 shell.

The sound of this newly made universals are practically the same as my old shure 530s, with a slight improvement in fitting due to the new shell. On top of that, It looks good!

Similar process can be done using tf10 and by doing so will not change the sound much, with proper and similar alignment compared to how the drivers are being hosted in its original shell.

The total cost for the whole process is around $100, which is around half the price of reshelling into a custom ( typical $100+ for reshelling and $40~50 on impressions). The advantage it has is that it comes with a better resale value as compared to a reshelled custom. Anyone who are interested can pm me for details,

I will now listen to them in the coming days and do a more detailed review on fitting and most importantly, how does it sound.

Upcoming i will try to get hold of some damaged westones to try as well!
