Test tones CD?

At least over here several test tone cds are offered, but if you have a computer with cd-burner, why don't you just take a good WAV editor like Goldwave and make one yourself?

I was actually thinking of asking this very same question until I figgered out that foobar2000 (mp3 software for PC, freeware) had a built in tone generator thats perfect for this purpose. I'm guessing that that'll be a bit inconvenient for you though. You should be able to use the diskwriter in foobar and burn your own test tone cd

Hrmm, just went googling, found this

http://www.stryke.com/testcds.htm

I found some others too, but most were rather unprofessional looking. Not the sort of thing I'd wanna pay money for without knowing their rep. Never used the above products, and have no idea if they're quality or service is any good.

http://audioprecision.com

They have a killer list of test CDs, and test gear to drool over.

Their book, "Audio Measurement Handbook", is worth the read for those who need/want to learn something about the subject. My copy is dated 1993, so it could use a good updating. The fundamentals are still intact.

MCM electronics sells one that is pretty good, and Shefield labs has another, with a lot of tones and features inside to test and demagnetize the system, if someone is interested in a copy just drop me a PM....
