Been pretty much lurking these days but me thinks these jewels are just too evil not to share with y’all so here goes. I received an OEM Teclast T39 2gb DAP (much like a Cowon D2/Meizu SL in size & appearance as I can gather) I scored cheap at an auction a few days back & after charging for a few hrs, I dragged & dropped 40 or so Flacs into it and slid in my fav 15yrs old recabled pair of Sony MDR 805 (which btw is much better than what present Sonys are & a very close match for a Yuin PK1 IMO) and all I gatta say is….Yowwzer Wowwwzzar!!!

its SQ is better than any stock DAP I’ve heard & is a definitive step above my 1g shuffle and heads & shoulders over stock 4g/5.5g/6g ipods & Zune 30gb. Indeed to these noggins, its not much behind my 5.5g 80gb iMod + mod Tomahawk combo (YES, the iMod+amp is better...doh!)!!! And all this unamped & off the T39s ubiquitous headout jack I mite add. The T39s got it all…great clarity, very decent soundstage/imaging, solid upfront mids, detailed highs with a tight impactful bottom end. And yes, I can tell the difference switching btwn lossless & lossy files.

Talking about amp, I did try pairing it with my mod Tommy & it sounded just as good but with even more bass impact esp. on the super inefficient PK1s. there was no degradation in sounds by amping it just off the headout!

The cons u ask?? Well the touchscreen isn’t the most responsive & the OS/firmware does leave a sour taste & the term “intuitive-interface” is definitely not on the menu but Mama Mia…the sound! Well ok if u wave a sharp object & threaten to do the ape dance, I mite admit that the sound siggy leans toward the analytical (but ever so slightly) but I’d say its more neutral than anything else. Output power is fine for IEMs, earbuds (excepting the 150ohm PK1 ofcos) & such but mite be atad under juiced for more demanding cans. Out of a max vol of 40, im consistently at low-mid 20s on the Livewire IEMs, high 20s low 30s on Mylar X3s, 30ish on the Sony ‘buds & maxed out (unsatisfactory I should add) on the PK1s.

Otherwise its pretty much perfect to my ears atleast. O and did I mention the T39 sports a miniSD slot??! Luckily I just happen to have a 4gb miniSD arriving for the cellfon originally but it’ll be shanghaied for duty (for now) on the T39 making it into an acceptable replacement for the (now ex & soon to be sold 512mb 1g shuffle) uber-porty rig. & best of all, the whole shebang’s (T39+4gb miniSD) costing me <$70 – talk about cheapskate heaven!

Ps:FWIW all eq & sound effects were turned off for the above impressions/comments. O & no hiss of any sort ventured anywhere close to these eardrums even with the super sensitive Livewires. For the vids fans, even though Im not planning any movie sessions (the T39s 2.6” QVGA screens not my fav for this), this T39 claims to run WMVs, Xvids & Avi at a full 30fps & indeed, the included Jame Bond:Casino Royale trailer does look very good indeed.

O & I’d like to give thanks to my fellow headfiers (Majkel, Faichui, eternity.pl, etc..) without whose favorable comments, I wouldn’t have discovered these great T39s. thxs for sharing guys.

Hi, thanks for your input and... enjoy the music!

Honestly, I regret selling the T39 but my iRiver E10 pairs so well with the HD25-1's

and... no, you don't need to switch to the E10, especially when you use lossless files frequently.

Teclast is indeed an incredibly well constructed player. If only the interface was better :/

You do however have a rockchip version of this player I suppose (sd cart slot), as the Telechips version doesn't include this feature :/

The real T39 does not have SD slot.
You probably got a fake one.
The fake one use one single rockchip and has a SD slot.
I never listen to the fake one but I doubt it has better SQ then the real one..........

When I use PK1 with T39, I use volume 20/40 and in most case I just use 15/40.

faichu - I don't think that sd card slot version based on rockchip is fake- it is just a different, lower class product. OP -if you find rockchip version that good - I can send you my T39 8gb on Telechips - I'm sure You'll be amazed

I don't know.......but Teclast never release T39 with SD card version officially on their website.

1)It is not T39 but the outlook is same as T39. The firmware and hardware is definately different!
2)I found a UK website and they call is mobiblu T10
Play.com (UK) : Mobiblu T10 2GB 2.6" Touch Screen Video/MP3 Player With FM Radio & Voice/FM Recorder : Electronics - Free Delivery

LOL! all this talk of chinese fake of a chinese fake of another chinese....is funny as hell! anyways it is very possible its a "fake" of somekind. the exact make & model is RIBIPOP T39 TOUCHMUSIC player & its comes in 2gb/4gb/8gb versions (that i know off that is) & they all sport a miniSD slot. cant find any tech specs on it though.

regardless, i can only comment on the SQ incomparo with a 1st gen shuffle, 4g/5.5/6g ipods, 1gen 30gb Zune & ofcos my 5.5g iMod+amp combo. these T39s (fake or otherwise) beats everything above excepting ofcos the iMod but thats to be expected. i didnt start out as a fanboy or anywhere close but these incredible sounding things just won me over (even discounting the very little $$$ i paid). i think they are an awesome buy & a great little DAP.

O & yes they're quite well built as i've already dropped it off the coffee table while syncing (im such a clutz!) & they just kept on rockin'. talking about PCDPs, while i cant say if my T39s pawns any Sony Discmans, i can however say with certainty that these T39s are better than my Pana SLCT 790 PCDP. ofcos the Pana's via optical to my mod iBasso D1 are an entirely different story....

these things caught my eye due to the Teclast T39 that u good folks mentioned & after some research, i thought i'd give it a try. afterall if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck.....but duck or not, i can honestly say im not dissapointed. i do consider myself somewhat discriminating when it comes to this hobby but by George, these little thingys do sound the bomb!

I would like to get a big capacity teclast T39. Is it possible to find 16 gb versions, and where?

Thank you!

T39 has been discontinued. I guess you can hardly get one right now.
Also, if you are bass lover, you will be disappoint with T39.
I found my T39 is lack of bass extend. (Bass roll off on very low frequency)
T39 is good on high, mid, soundstage.
Plus I found this player has less hiss than all other players I have listened.

Didn't you already own the kenwood player?
People said it has the best SQ.
