Probably my favorite straight-up techno album ever, also.

Astral Projection of Israel are known for their production skills. Their music also rocks, IMO.

Also Green House Effect, album Global Warming.

Tim Schuldt produces tracks with killer bass kicks. Chi-AD comes to mind too.

edit: these are all CDs.

Haltya - Forest Flavour
i don't think i should rate it as my top sound quality cd.. but this is one of my favourites when it comes to enjoyment with the sound from really good MUSIC.
it's underground finnish, twisted psychedelic project. very sofisticated, complex, and full of life. funky beats take influence from psytrance, disco & house music that are observed in a somehow cinnic way, that whoever don't like the simplicity of house or disco may just fall in love with this CD, like most of my friends

but i warn you, it's insane...

sorry for bad english, feel free to correct me.. on a PM so we won't ruin the thread

The best recorded reference techno/ambient disc. Period.

monitoring/mixing/recording:
ATC SCM20A SL on Mana reference sehlf, modified Allen & heath 72 input mixing console on mana custom made suport. Nagra D recorder mounted on mna phase 16 support. initial test CD burnt using the HHB CDR800 on mana phase 16 s

first reference:
ATC SCM50A Sl mounted on mana phase 8 suports, Nagra D on mana phase 11, Naim 82/SuperCap preamp on manaphase 11

second reference:
ATC SCM100A on mana 7, Micromega Data/ Dialog CD player, Naim 52 preamp on phase 13

mastering:
nagra D recorder on mana 16, direct shortest possible signal path to glass master at RPM mastering in london

other notes:
the fast floor recording studio is individually wired using heavy gauge high quality oxygen free copper cable.

they have opted not to gate or compress any of the signal paths. The tracks were writen in the order that they appear on the CD to futher reduce the degradation through the compilation process, insuring the most optimum signal path.

this is one of those rare CD that actually sounds good and fun to listen to.

Kuma, can you say a bit more about the music itself, please?

i'm afraid i won't like it (i like twisted stuff MOSTLY), but you know, i've noticed that the more sound quality, the more i'm open minded to music types i would'nt bother to try before.
does that meens i'm an audiophile ?
