TaoTronics TT-EP01 , When good is not expensive

So the EP002's arrived. I can see what they mean by good but not brilliant ANC. But I'm sure that is not helped by not getting a great fit with the included tips.

Just had my first flight with the 001. No doubt the ANC helps blocking engine sounds but I was expecting a bit more attenuation after reading around. I would sah about 60 to 70% of engine noise is blocked. This is enough to listen to music without crancking up the volume but it is definitely not silent background !

Not sure how the bose compare to that.

As for the tip fit I agree. The stock tips do not seal very well. I use the spinfit tips which fit perfectly the noozle of the EP001. The form of the spinfit makes them enter the ears a little further as well and provide a much better passive isolation compared to the stock tips. I also believe the sound improves quite a bit.

I am definitely set on the spinfit for the EP001.

Which SpinFit tips are these ?

I might try them because I got the EP001 and was pretty disappointed with the fit. Actually I can't get proper passive isolation with the stock tips (my test is to rub my fingers next to my ear, if II can hear the "rustling" the isolation doesn't work!) and even using some complys I had around. As a result on a plane the ANC barely manages to bring them on par with my Klipsch S4 with the double-flange that provide phenomenal passive isolation.

Are you guys able to get any kind of passive isolation with the EP001 ?

Thanks, will go read that thread. Have you tried them yourself with the EP01 ?
I must say the best seal I've ever had is with the Klipsch S4 and the stock double flanges, it's a pretty narrow "nozzle" though so it fits in nicely in the ear canal, the EP01 is a lot bigger.

If the CP100 fits with a 3.8mm mounting for the nozzle, like the picture that @SHAMuuu posted, then the CP240 will fit with a 4mm mounting for the nozzle.

So I received the CP100 from AliExpress, only a week, that was pretty fast ! Got L and M sizes and while the L size clearly seals my ear canal completely (as tested with other IEMs) the passive isolation of the EP01 is still very weak. I can only come to the conclusion that it's due to their design with the green leds (and NC mics) on each bud actually letting the sound in. They are my only NC IEM so I don't know if that's a design requirement but it pretty much defeats the purpose of NC as it more or less manages to put the EP-01 on par with standard IEMs...well the bass are probably filtered better but not the mids and highs.

Am I missing something ? Does someone here have experience with the ultra-expensive Bose QC-20 ? Do they have better passive isolation ?
