I will probably be adding to my headphone collection soon. I currently have what's in my sig. (plus I swipe the pair of PX100s I bought for my wife from time to time

). I really don't like the vibes that much. They sound pretty ass (at least compared to the 990s), and I really don't like iems anyway. I don't really need closed, although the idea intrigues me. I have heard 770s - good but no thanks. Skylab's HD25s (recabled) sounded phenomenal, but I heard them either from his Opera, or iMod I will have a budget of approx. $300.

I previously owned the SR60s. In fact, that was my first "real" headphone, and I dearly loved them, and I loved the Grado sound. I have had the opportunity to listen to some higher end Grados (including, IIRC, the 325s) at meets and was blown away. I loved the way they seemed like my 60s on 'roids.

I want something pretty different from the 990s, so I am leaning away from either Senn or AKG (unless I go closed). It seems like I gotta go up the Grado ladder. Am I wrong?

Can't talk you out of them. I've owned them for awhile and only have good things to say. Some people think they sound bright. I can understand why some would say that, but to my ears, these are great cans for the price. They don't sound bright to me, just alot of detail. They really shine on rock music. Pretty good with classical.

Good luck. Don't give up the sex either!

I had a dream last night that if you bought them you'd grow a terribly outdated moustache and be cast into the shadows by your peers.

Was that ok?

Get the MS2's instead? I'll be honest I've never heard the SR325, but I do prefer the MS2 to the RS1.

I've been jammin to my new 770 pros the past two weeks. literally sat down 10 mins ago and starting listening to ASOT with my 325i's.... and wow! i forgot how much they rock! the bass is so precise! i heart them soo much.
get a pair, if you dont like them, they dont really lose value.

Buy them. Oops. I was supposed to tell you the opposite... but alas, I cannot.

I love grados, but the 325is are by far the worst headphones i've ever heard. The treble is AWFUL. Pencils in the ears bad. 225s or RS1s.

1. Really heavy
2. If you look at them hard enough, they will fall apart
3. They have many cosmetic defects
4. Cable is a bitch
