You guys obviously know absolutely nothing about Stax.
 
Yes the price is a bit high to me but second-hand SR-Omegas have sold for around $6000 both here and elsewhere. They're one of the rarest and best headphones ever made.

And if someone pays it, he's right. Since they're so rare, it really only matters if owning one is worth $3850 to someone.

I believe that's the same guy selling a HE90+HEV90 for $29500 on Audiogon.  Meanwhile, the same setup is going for less than half the price on eBay

I guess the guy thinks they are like high end super cars and the price goes up with time.


To be fair, vintage headphones have been outperforming my 401(k).

I'll probably dump the 401(k) to nuke student loans or pick up a rental unit in the next few months.
