@Restatic I used my previous mods but only closed the backside complitely with silicone I leaved some space to it. It may need bigger housing then it will work better? It already sound so gorgeus so I don't see the point of trying closed back. It may need complitely different housing. I'll post tomorrow some my measurements. Now I need some sleep.

for this price the best planar I've ever used.

With the better earpads from the Monoprice m1060c it's as good as the Audeze LCD-x.

indeed.... keep them as they are... it's a very good one. Earpads did the trick for me!

Interested to learn how these fair against the HE-400i 2020 edition... seems the HIFIMAN model wins on soundstage, imaging and technical performance (though maybe not in the treble), but gets edged out in tonality?

What about timbre?

I use artificial silicone ear on my measurement. The reason of my measurement is never flat. But on my measurement it lost alot bass. Opposite of DIYAH.

I have slightly regretted selling off my pair. I did so because I thought the HF580 sounded weird or slightly off...but then again a lot of charming headphones out there are weird sounding...hell even some flagship contenders seem to be tuned by a madman like fx the Abyss flagship or the Heddphone. Some times ‘weird’ can be good. I still think the Takstar is one of the best cans for old school electronic music like Berliner Schule.

I did some quick test. It may work but it probably need bigger space. Now I have all my inner back mods that already choking air from the driver. Actually it does not look that bad. I had previously some EQ setttings leaved on. Sorry about that. Maybe I do some listen test

Works very well. Snappy sound, bass does not bleed to upper frequencies. But maybe a bit too much echo sometimes and a bit aggressive midrange. Very easy to track enemies on fps games.

I would go HF580. What I have read on others review its slightly better. Easy to mod too if you want to get much better audio quality. But the cable is not removable HF580 is at aliexpress $200 and sheepskins earpad $23.

I can buy in 11.11 for 150 bucks and less... mybe around 130 dollar. amazing price but the cable, the comfort and the earpads... Will improve it and it's the best headphones for the next 10 years
