That's so funny because I was thinking that same thing. That's why I think all tips should come with that wax screen.

On another note, isn't ear  wax an acid? wouldn't it damage the internals of the headphone?

Hi!

I used to have the Altone 200, and absolutely loved them. Sadly, they are now broken and I am therefore looking for a new pair. I have been looking at the UE 900, but since it is an all BA-driver earphone I am afraid that it lacks the bass of the Altone. I found the bass quantity and overall signature of the Altone 200 to be near perfect for my taste, and would like something close to it. Can somebody who owns both pairs give a short comparison of the two, especially bass-wise?

Sounds like you have the LZ-a2. How do they compare to the Altone 200?

When I was shopping around, the altones where compared to the Dunu DN 1000. Or one of the Dunu DN.

Warmer than A2. Bass is more extended / linear. Mids not recessed. Treble isn't peaky. I'm really liking LZ-A2. Not sure if I'll keep A200 or not. A200 were my first hybrid IEM, so they have a bit of sentimental value, though.

Thanks for the inputs. I will be looking forward to see the reviews of the A3's, now that the A2 isn't around anymore.

Both DN1000 & LZ-A2 have more basy sig than the A200. If you want a little more punchy sound try small bore tips such as Sony Hybrid. The A200 are still very nice IEM's for me.

Does anyone own both the A200 and any of the Shure SE range? How do the Altones compare to the similarly priced SE425s? Charz.

Just scored a pair of the Altonies for $50. ****** yeeaaaah.

Got them for original auditions but was one poor ass person. These were the first IEM's that brought me in to the world of Hi-Fi.

I know the info's around but digging gets difficult, is there a cheaper, better, easily available (spinfits, olives, etc) that I want to get for these or will comply probably be fine and dandy for the time being?

I also just got myself the 200, used one. Quite good on the first hear, I'm comparing them with my Havi B3 Pro 1.
Btw, anyone feels that the bass were quite strong? Almost to the point that they were too strong and overpowering the mids/vocals?
I did not expect this at all
