Spoke to soon.

Right hand earphone cutting in & out when the cable is moved.
What a pile of crap. Returning today.
Shame. Sound was great.
Will switch to the Dunu DN2000.

T-PEOS should replace them and might even reimburse you for shipping costs. Email/PM Sunggoo and ask.

I'm planning to buy this IEM, however due to the various issues from other fellow Head-fi members I am considering other IEMs.
Hope that sunggoo will address the issues ASAP, I am really interested about the SQ of this IEM.

Quick update:

First pair was defective showing less bass and problems with distortion/30Hz square wave. The second pair looks to be within tolerances and will get shipped out to the next tour member soon.

The problems surfacing about build, and previous bass issues are making Altone200 hard to recommend. From my experience if you want an IEM to do well (especially within Head-fi) room for error is near zero, the smallest thing will tear it down, stop it's tracks, and that's exactly what's happened to Altone200, which is a damn shame because it sounds very good. But what good is it without reliability. I feel kind of sorry for T-Peos because they worked very hard to get Altone right, but an untied ends and possibly being rushed have bitten them.

I just leave the thread be because the damage has been done and I hope T-Peos can pick it back up again.

Let the USA members do their tour and use the thread for their impressions.

Was about to pull the trigger on these - came back to this thread and am now reading about all sorts of problems. Should I wait, if so how much longer? The manufacturers going to say whenever the production line of these is going smoothly?

The bass issue has been solved long ago to my understanding, no problem there any longer, but the initial threat of that just hangs around like last nights curry causing endless confusion. Is the bass fixed? I don't know? This member said his has bass. When did he get his? Mine has no bass. Well I sent mine back to have the bass checked. Etc etc etc.

And now a few members are reporting one side just dropping out completely . As some compensation and flip of the coin here mine are fine, I believe Brooko's are fine, d marco and all the other owners who don't show up to report problems.

That's about as much I can tell you. =)

I was an early pre-orderer and got a pair with low bass. Sunggoo worked with me to replace them and offered to cover shipping expenses to send my old pair back to T-PEOS. My new pair sounds like what early reviewers described - detailed high end, good mids, powerful and impactful bass when called for but not intrusive when it's not supposed to be there. Hopefully, everyone will receive a good pair from here on out. It's a good IEM when you get a pair with the intended sound signature. Early QC kind of reminds me of Tenore...

I'll wait around two weeks, see if anything new comes up or if a more trembling bass IEM comes up. These are obviously a great IEM deal for $150, but I did originally want a incredibly thunderous bass IEM, something I don't even know is out there. Thankfully I found the Extreme Basshead Lounge and remembered how much I actually like headphones.. but clarity, highs and nice female vocals are appealing to me.... sometimes :)

I'm one of the very first few to receive the Altone 200 and it's still going strong to date.

I've applied a slight eq adjustments just to lower the mid bass a bit (yes I find the quantity a little bit too much for my preference) and smoothen the 7khz just a tad and I now have difficulty choosing between the Altone and my Noble 4

I have two good pairs.  Both of mine are going strong - the 2nd pair (which I purchased) I only used for 10 minutes to check that the bass and everything else was OK.

If you want a pair that is good - drop me a PM and we can talk about a sale.  I was going to keep both, but got introduced to a much more expensive hybrid recently (Fidue A83), and after listening to it, promptly purchased it (when will I learn ...).  It's a very neutral signature - but ticks all of my boxes.

Anyway - like I said PM me if you want a good Altone.  You can have the one I purchased at the promo price (+ freight and Paypal) to your door.

I must be lucky, my pre order set sounded great on arrival and continue to do so.  Mine are the non cinch version.  I like them as much as the GR07 BE; source, amp, selection and mood has me going back and forth between the two.  I can not say which is best.  Now if they will just last a long while.

Suggestion: maybe an update to the OP with the evolution of the problem and the solution would be handy. Even better if T-PEOS personal posts are linked.

Cheers

I've made some adjustments to the OP this morning to reflect this.

I've made some adjustments to the OP this morning to reflect this.

I read the OP and ALL of the linked reviews and subsequently placed an order. Next I jumped to page 51 of this thread and started to read that some units are cutting out on one side.

It would be good if the OP also made mention of the problem with one side cutting out on some units. I've asked them to cancel my order for now until they can assure me this problem is totally resolved. I wish I'd know about this intermittent defect before placing the order. Thanks for considering my request.
