Received and tried the ultra wide pads but I found the differences quite subtle. Less impact than my EQ settings. So I reverted back to the stock pads and the simple EQ profile below. They sound excellent to me like that and this is what I will go with for now.
that's interesting man. I swapped back to the stock pads after reading your post and the differences I hear from the ultra wides are quite big! I'll give your peq settings a go when I have some time this weekend.
I thought all rigs showed this dip at 9k and it isn't indicative of the actual FR.I based that on this chart, which shows a pretty narrow dip in the treble, so I'm offsetting that with a narrow peak instead of a shelf.
Really? I checked a few other charts and most show a dip there indeed, although not as extreme. I'll try it without that correction. That would make the profile even simpler, just a mid range bump.I thought all rigs showed this dip at 9k and it isn't indicative of the actual FR.
EDIT: I removed the treble peak. I don't notice a large difference, as it impacted a narrow frequency range. I will limit the profile to a mid range bump of 3 dB.
When I say that the differences are subtle I mean that relative to what EQ can do. Pads can only impact the FR by a few dB here and there.that's interesting man. I suppose I'm happy with my stock pads and a little EQ.
At $320US, I'm not too excited to buy the UW and perhaps only experience a subtle change.
I think I am looking to solve a problem I don't have and to just throw $$$ at the P's.

I don't have the P anymore, so I cannot confirm if this is what I still prefer. Here they are, at the end if the page. I think 1, 3 and 6 are the important ones. 4th in case you feel the lower treble is too hot.Can you share your EQ settings? Having trouble finding them. Thanks

When asking about the UW pads the dealer said there were 2 versions, closed or semi open?

I can only speculate that the dealer meant the regular pads and the ultra wides. When asking about the UW pads the dealer said there were 2 versions, closed or semi open?
The ultra wides can be identified easily by the perforation.

Waiting to hear from T+A.
The dealer 'thought' there were 2 UW options (one being new) but you are probably right, standard pads and UW. Still not sure I'm going for either at this point.

Thanks!
The owner / consumer often to know more than the dealers.

It is unfortunately not like ADI-2, there is no adjustable limit for when it will be activated. As far as I remember, once loudness is engaged it is always active for the whole volume levels, though the level might slightly change.@HA200 owners
While I like the loudness function I was hoping that it is adopting itself based on the volume and thus raising certain frequencies like bass only at lower listening volumes and returning to a flat response curve after passing a certain volume threshold.
As far as I remember RME ADI 2 is doing that...
But HA200 seems to be pushing up the bass frequencies no matter what the volume is like I know from my car stereo systems from the past leading to a V-shaped sound signature.
Is that how it is supposed to work, so the loudness level (minimum up to high) should be manually adjusted depending on the listening volume?

Today I was able to demo the SolP. After that I sold my P-SE to upgrade to the P-model.
I want to now create a custom cable before it arrives. Can anyone check if 7,5mm diameter HD800 connectors will fit into the SolP? I know about the length issue, I just want to understand if 7,5mm is thin enough for the SolP.
Additionally, does anyone know if they do proprietary wiring like on the P-SE model? But I guess as it is just 2 pin there should be no issue.
Thanks!

They fit to my understanding but not to my actual experience. The cables are interchangeable from hd800 to SolP.Today I was able to demo the SolP. After that I sold my P-SE to upgrade to the P-model.
