Besides the cheaper lcd5, people should be getting similar priced (to p) stax x9k now. with the reports of the new stax having much better bass compared to 007/9, I wonder if p's price becomes a little hard to swallow...
Similarlay priced? :) In the EU it costs a lot (~$8500) more. P here costs €4800:

Damn that is a HUGE difference. Didn't know Stax goes up that much.
The € 7,250 Stax SR-X9000 is only the Headphone - Electrostats need their own Driver Unit (Amp) due to the high voltage. A high-end Stax SRM-T8000 Tube-Driver costs additional € 6,499. US-prices: $6,200 for the Stax SR-X9000 and $6,090 for the Stax SRM-T8000 - Staxaudio.com .

In the EU the Stax and Solitaire P are neither similar priced, nor is the LCD-5 cheaper than the Solitaire (5000€ vs 4800€)

And even if we assume the same price category for comparisons Sake, I'm sure the Solitaire P has no problems Holding its own.

As it stands now, the T+A is the bargain among the ultra flagships in the EU

That one is still "pre ordered", but thank you.
Got to wait at least one more month according to ny dealer.

I think you have it right in terms detail and clarity and think your choice of music colors your opinion of the bass...that is NOT a criticism just to point out those like myself who never listen to such intensely heavy bass music would and do not hear the same issues..personally having owned 2 pairs of LCD-4 and the Utopia I think the P is head and shoulders better than either other than perhaps the LCD-4 bass which I guess is the bottom line for you...I actually look forward to hearing the LCD-5 because it appears tthey are more open and detailed than the 4
I guess you are the only one with P and Stealth. I though Stealth can be a good choice for P owners as a closed back. What do you think?

the more I listen to the sol p the more impressed I am ...I really do think they are the equal of the susvara...every bit as detailed with a different sound signature...what makes them special for me is the ability to use them straight out of my chord dave

What equipment stand are you using in your picture? Tks.
Has anyone discovered what the differences in sound are using the selectable impedances on the HA200 with the Solitaire P?
