I think it's an old, probably fake render. While it is in line with the Carbon design scheme, even Rio has better sense than to release something that looks like that. Especially in the wake of the iPod.

really? i think they're trying to make all their players look the same except for little differences. IE: carbon, pearl carbon, ce2100, nitrus, and there's probably one or two more but i just dont want to find em. i dont know what the hell rio is doing. i like being able to tell the differences between each player without examining them. You should just be able to look at it and go Oh thats the carbon. Not, Is that the carbon?....mabey its that ce2100...wait no i think thats the nitrus...

It is a 3D render... but the looks seem consistent with what I'm seeing elsewhere. And there does seem to be a fashion among manufacturers these days for scaling up their mini players.


The main problem I see with that design is that there's an unfeasibly long 'thumb travel' involved with using it.
