I've chosen to buy both a pair of Koss Portapros and a pair of Superlux HD681s. I'm just torn between the options, I don't really know which one seems the "best". Could anyone experienced with these headphones chime in with any recommendations?

The HD681F is a little more clear, the HD681B more bassy.

I don't really care about having super strong bass. What exactly does "clear" mean in this context?

Someone out on the web compared the different Superlux models, can't remember the website.
They liked the HD681B better, but the reviewer was a metal head.
So what the reviewer said by clear, I'm not sure. good be better mid range and highs.

I think the HD681F would be closer to the AKF K701/702 sound rather than an ATH M50.

I found a HD669 on ebay, but dunno if they will restock... and I saw something saying that the 681s are now out of production.

i sad.

Thomann, an internet retailer in Germany, is expecting to restock on the HD681 on April 19th (5 days), so they still seem to be available.

Check out the CAD mh310. It's a re-branded variant of the hd662. The cup design looks a lot like the hd669.  It has a head band instead of the "wings" that people seem to dislike. The sound quality and isolation are very good.
