I'm in the market for some new headphones, and I've narrowed my selection down to the Superlux HD-668B and the Denon DN-HP700. However, I've got a few question before I make my decision.
1) Are there any notable differences regarding sound quality or signature? I'm looking for something approaching analytical, and I don't plan on amping. I've read ljokerl's reviews for both on his shootout thread, and my understanding is that the rendering of high notes on both are very similar.
2) How's the cable durability on the Denons, more specifically where the cable meets the headphone? The breakaway cabling on the Superluxes is particularly alluring and a big plus in my mind.
3) How is the durability of the headband on the Superluxes? Has anyone ever heard of any cases where they've broken or gave way?
Thanks in advance!
