Sundara with a high output impedance amp?

My two cents.
A lot of headphone buys are going to be used with portable audio (phone, DAP, etc), which means battery powered, which mean headphone that use less voltage, but need more current, so a solid state headphone amplifier, with a very low (4-Ohm or less) output impedance would be really really preferred, and I'm guessing the Yamaha's headphone jack is just not even close in the running, for that standard.

Got it, thanks again for all the answers.
I'll most probably stick with the dt 990 pro 250 ohms for the listening with the Yamaha that can (probably) handle the high impedance output.
Unfortunately for the neighborhood and the time I listen music with it (mostly late evening and night because I work most of the daytime) I can no longer listen with speakers so I have to use headphones. For the future maybe I'm thinking to look into the beyerdynamic 880 600ohms, that with 600 ohms maybe is the best bet for the Yamaha, that I think has more than enough power for them

I would not suggest investing in 600-Ohm headphones, while they should work fine with the Yamaha, they are not really practical for use with just about any other source.
Unless your into tube (OTL) headphone amplifiers.

That would be the headphone only for the vinyl/cd/tape listening so only with the Yamaha, they will be the substitute of the speakers.
For the desktop listening I'll stick with the iems/sundara with the topping L30

That is not true as the source can be anything to the Yamaha.

Absolutely, I know.
I'm just keeping separate my physical music (vinyl/cd/tape to the Yamaha) and my liquid (mp3/flac/dsd from my PC to the topping E30/L30).

They are both the same .

Sorry if I resume this old topic of mine, but I've just discovered that the output impedance of my turntable amp is (I send and email to Yamaha) 470 mV/470 Ω.
That's a loooooot, which headphones could be paired with this output impedance? Forgot the Sundara of course, my dt 990 pro 250 ohm? Maybe better the 600 ohm version (dt 880)?

Better to invest in a solid state headphone amplifier.
600-Ohm headphones are not practical.

That's an idea.
But is there a headphones amp with 3 rca inputs? I have the turntable, cd player and tape deck all connected with RCA to the amp.
I can keep the Yamaha just in case in the future I can listen the music with speaker but right now I have to listen with headphones

The Yamaha's headphone jack would likely have a high impedance (Ohm), but there should be plenty of power (voltage) to drive headphones.
My marantz pm5005 has a output impedance of 400 ohms for the headphone output (confirmed by Marantz cust care). Using the sundaras on it, no sq issues. But still wondering if its 'technically' a good amp to run the cans. Not sure if sundara being a planar which typically have a flat impedance response, it sounds good?
