Summer Music...

[Rise To The Top]

For those of us that get 2-3 months off during the months of "Summer", certian songs hit in a certian way, not only lyrically and rhythmically, but that certian something that adds to the feeling of freedom, the type that only comes around during these short 3 months. Some of us even drop our favourite playlists, loading on these "Summer" songs. For those who do, what do you feel as "Summer" music? List artist, song name, comments, etc.

One of my favourites is Summer Nights by Lil Rob. Something with the beat just rings summer, even if you havent heard it.

Another one of my favourites is Ode To Summer and Last Summer by Lostprophets, both just hit the feeling and meaning of Summer, emo or not.

Southside by Lloyd is another, and I am yet to find the reason why. No matter how much I've listened to it, its still a mystery.

There are many more, but I would like to see what others have.

Try:

Dodgy "Free Peace Sweet" - Conjures up surfing trips to North Cornwall in UK, even through I could never surf!
Dodgy "Homegrown" - First track "Staying out for the Summer" and the cover even has a surf bus on it

Talking Heads "Little Creatures" - makes me feel like making babies in the summertime (or at least practicing anyway).

Underworld "Born Slippy" - Alcohol fueled partying in summer holidays, when I was still single.

No real summer in the UK this year, mostly rain
