wow I envy the OP such a nice place to live. I wish I lived there, Instead I live in NY were taxes are crazy and so are the drivers. (No offense to sensible drivers.)

well today was a tad warm, hit a pleasant 34 degrees according to a couple of thermometers this afternoon

Seriously? That is hotter than it was here today. When I was in Inverness, Scotland it was May and it was very cool and cloudy every day except one.
The one day it was nice I took a boat tour of Loch Ness.
