I've been looking at the Shanling PH300 which is well priced on ebay at about $300 US. i need a combined preamp and headphone ampifier (amp is Jungson JA99C, phones are Audio Technica AT700s) since I use both equally and it simpilfies wiring etc if i just use the one pre. Any other amps i should be looking at with a price limit of say $500?
Looking for a clear, but warm musical sound rather than going the forensic/analytical route. Piano. vocals, light orchestral are mainly my thing and I want something that can handle these in a liquid, airy sort of way. More analogue than digital as a sound signature so tubes will have a bit of a preference but it's not written in stone that I'll go that way.
All suggestions much appreciated,
