Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

with the following mods:

important ones:
Oblivion Mod Manager
Unofficial Patch (3.2.0, and get the 3.2.4 hotfix)

important ones for visual overhaul:
Qarl's Texture pack 3 + the newest patch for his texture pack
Natural Environments
Darnified UI

little ones that I think make the game better:
Color Map Mod
Coloured Enemy Health
Low Poly Grass (grass looks identical, but performance is way better. I shut grass off in either case)
plus 5 always (some may think this is a cheat, but it saves me time from spamming my skills just to get to the "+5" every time I level up)

Oblivion on PC with these mods is delicious.

Oh and I would heartily suggest the whole Call Of Duty series, also Company Of Heroes I found to be really good..
Some Unreal Tournament too.
Diablo 2 is a must (horrible graphics though)

I recommend HoN instead of DotA. I've played both a lot, (dota 5 years and at some stages very competetively, was in one of the second division clans). It is a very hard game at the beginning, but if you read most guides you will see that this is a very rewarding game, where nothing but skill matters (very very few elements of luck).
